Whoever we buy has to be English or Irish for me. We are missing the grit and the balls to berate the foreign players, which I suspect tomkins and o'brian used to provide partially along with collins, noble and carroll.

That is my opinion too. Obvious to everyone and yes 200 million worth and even then the quality of player means we wont get what we need.
Sullivan and Gold are not rich enough or not prepared to risk enough of their wealth to take us forward over the longer term.
If we want to truly compete we will have to complete the sacrifice of our soul and sell out to foreign billionaires (ones that do not go broke).
If I want to see us not continually flirting with relegation or getting relegated and having some form of success in the rapidly diminishing years I have left on this earth, we need different owners. Football is about spending the most now. You get odd exceptions but look at the league. Richest clubs win everything. We are running on a budget.

RB - we have Byram. Do we now not consider him good enough when back from injury?
Striker - that's obvious, at least one ideally two. We need a Hartson/Kitson type impact ideally
Central mid - can wait til summer but this has to be nobles last season starting that role.
CB - again can wait but badly need some cover there

Sell Payet and about 4 others, then buy Sigurrdson (sic), Defoe, Shawcross, get Batshuyi/Remy on loan and Mancini or Hiddink in charge and we'll be ok.
